Our Hand Hygiene Campaign

As part of our ’We‘re All Ears’ campaign, you told us that a big concern was the risk of acquiring infection whilst staying in hospital.

Already, we’ve achieved a great deal.

In recent years we’ve brought infection rates down to a very low level. Now, we want to get even better, and there’s one simple way everyone can help.

Hand washing with soap and water is the most effective way to prevent the spread of infections both in hospital and at home.

That’s why your local NHS, in partnership with your local authority, is launching ‘‘Give Soap a Chance’, a major campaign to improve hand hygiene.

We’re spreading the word to the stop the spread of infection by asking everyone to clean up their act.
